Na maioria das vezes, o que nos impede de praticar aceitação são os inúmeros mitos e equívocos que criamos ao longo da vida.
Mito 1: Aceitar é o mesmo que gostar da situação
Verdade: Aceitação não significa que você precisa gostar, aprovar ou se sentir bem com o que está acontecendo. Você pode aceitar algo e, ao mesmo tempo, não querer que isso continue. Aceitação é simplesmente reconhecer: “Isso está acontecendo agora”, sem precisar adicionar uma camada extra de sofrimento emocional.
Mito 2: Aceitação significa desistir de mudar
Outro grande equívoco é acreditar que aceitar algo significa abandonar qualquer tentativa de mudança ou melhoria.
Verdade: Aceitação é o ponto de partida mais realista para a mudança. Quando você aceita a situação como ela é, você para de desperdiçar energia negando a realidade e consegue agir de forma mais inteligente e eficaz. Aceitar o agora não significa que o futuro será igual ao presente.
Mito 3: Aceitação é sinal de fraqueza ou fracasso
Culturalmente, ainda vemos a aceitação como um último recurso de quem “não conseguiu vencer”.
Verdade: Aceitação é um ato de coragem. Exige força emocional para olhar para a realidade sem filtros, sem negação, e dizer: “Sim, isso está acontecendo. E eu posso lidar com isso, um passo de cada vez.”

O que significa praticar a aceitação de verdade?
Ao invés de perguntar “Posso aceitar isso?”, experimente questionar-se:
- Posso relaxar com isso?
- Posso reconhecer que é assim que as coisas são agora?
- Posso me permitir sentir o que estou sentindo, sem resistência?
Aceitar uma situação não significa eliminar a resistência interna. Pelo contrário: significa incluir também a sua resistência no processo. Por exemplo: aceitar que você odeia o que está acontecendo já é um ato de aceitação.
O poder transformador da aceitação
Vou compartilhar uma situação que me marcou. Houve uma época em que eu me sentia constantemente sobrecarregado com o trabalho. As demandas pareciam não ter fim, e minha reação automática era resistir: reclamar, me irritar, desejar que tudo fosse diferente.
Mas, quanto mais eu lutava contra a realidade, mais exausto e frustrado me sentia. Até que um dia, numa pausa para respirar, veio um pensamento simples: “É isso que eu tenho para hoje. Não gosto, mas é o que está acontecendo.”
A partir desse momento, algo mudou. As tarefas não desapareceram, os prazos continuaram os mesmos, mas minha mente ficou menos tensa. A resistência interna foi dando lugar a uma atitude mais leve, mais prática.
Aceitar não significou desistir ou me conformar. Significou apenas parar de desperdiçar energia brigando com o que já era fato. E, curiosamente, foi a partir desse estado de aceitação que consegui agir com mais clareza e eficácia.

Como praticar a aceitação: Um processo em 4 etapas
Se você está enfrentando uma situação difícil e sente que a resistência só aumenta o sofrimento, experimente este processo prático de aceitação:
1. Reconheça os Sentimentos Negativos
Identifique e nomeie os sentimentos e pensamentos que estão surgindo. Por exemplo: “Estou com raiva”, “Estou frustrado”, “Sinto ansiedade”.
2. Concentre-se na Realidade Presente
Traga sua atenção ao momento atual. Sinta o seu corpo, o ambiente ao redor, e perceba que essa é a realidade do agora, goste você dela ou não.
3. Reformule os Pensamentos
Questione-se: “O que há de realmente errado com esta situação agora?” Muitas vezes, a mente exagera o sofrimento. Tente encontrar um pensamento mais neutro ou até positivo para substituir o padrão de negatividade.
4. Solte a Resistência Restante
Se ainda houver luta interna, simplesmente reconheça: “Ok, ainda sinto resistência e tudo bem.” Abrace até mesmo a sua incapacidade momentânea de aceitar totalmente. Este já é um passo importante.
Por que a aceitação traz alívio emocional?
O que gera sofrimento não é apenas a situação em si, mas a nossa resistência contínua a ela. Aceitar não significa concordar, desistir ou se conformar. Significa apenas parar de desperdiçar energia negando o que já é verdade.
A partir desse estado de aceitação, fica muito mais fácil escolher as próximas ações com clareza, calma e propósito.
Aceitar o agora é um ato de autenticidade
Aceitação é um convite para a autenticidade. Para estar presente na sua própria vida, exatamente como ela é agora. Não como você gostaria que fosse. E, ironicamente, é justamente essa aceitação honesta que abre espaço para qualquer transformação real.
Aceitar é estar inteiro. Com os sentimentos bons, os ruins e com todas as contradições humanas. É o primeiro passo para viver com mais leveza e verdade.

Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
