Um estudo com mais de 1.600 participantes usando um aplicativo de terapia cognitivo-comportamental (TCC digital) mostrou que, ao reduzir a crença em pensamentos negativos para 0%, os sentimentos negativos diminuíram em até 87%.
Esses resultados confirmam a teoria defendida por filósofos como Epicteto e psicólogos como Aaron Beck: não são os acontecimentos em si que nos afetam, mas a forma como pensamos sobre eles. Portanto, modificar padrões de pensamento negativo pode ser uma das formas mais eficazes de tratar a depressão.

3. Fatores ambientais e sociais
Eventos de vida estressantes ou traumáticos também estão entre as principais causas da depressão. Isso inclui situações como:
