Compreendendo a ideação suicida
A rigor, ideação suicida se refere a pensamentos (ideação) de suicídio ou tirar a própria vida. No entanto, existem dois tipos de ideação suicida: passiva e ativa.
A ideação suicida é um dos sintomas da depressão maior e da depressão encontrada no transtorno bipolar, mas também pode ocorrer em pessoas com outras doenças mentais ou sem nenhuma doença mental.
A ideação suicida passiva ocorre quando você deseja estar morto ou poder morrer, mas não formula um plano para morrer por suicídio.
A ideação suicida ativa, por outro lado, não é apenas pensar sobre isso, mas ter a intenção de morrer por suicídio, incluindo planejar como fazê-lo.

Se você acha que um ente querido está pensando ou planejando suicídio, pergunte. É um mito que você dará a outra pessoa a ideia de se matar. Perguntar mostra que você está preocupado e que se importa com a pessoa.
Esteja ciente de que a ideação suicida passiva, desejar morrer dormindo ou em um acidente em vez de morrer por suas próprias mãos, não é necessariamente menos séria do que a ideação suicida ativa. Ela pode rapidamente se tornar ativa e certamente tem uma mistura de componentes ativos e passivos.
Também é importante notar que os pensamentos suicidas flutuam. Eles são conhecidos por “aumentar e diminuir”, o que significa que os pensamentos podem ser específicos, intensos e persistentes em um dia e, no outro, podem ser mais vagos e ocorrer com menos frequência. No entanto, é sempre importante levar a sério os pensamentos suicidas e procurar ajuda, mesmo que pareça que eles melhoraram.

As crianças e adolescentes correm risco de suicídio
