Pode ser antes de uma apresentação no trabalho, de uma performance ou de uma conversa difícil. Por fora, silêncio. Por dentro, um turbilhão de pensamentos, cenários catastróficos e preocupações. A boa notícia é que existe uma forma simples e científica de acalmar essa mente preocupada: dar nome ao que você sente. Não é autoajuda vazia, é neurociência.

A ciência por trás de dar nome às emoções
Quando você diz coisas como “Estou nervoso(a)”, “Estou sobrecarregado(a)” ou “Estou animado(a), mas inseguro(a)”, você não está apenas desabafando. Você está ajudando o seu cérebro a mudar de estado. Pesquisas mostram que, ao nomear o que você sente, a atividade da amígdala – a parte do cérebro que dispara o alarme do medo e do estresse, diminui, enquanto a atividade do córtex pré-frontal, área ligada à clareza, planejamento e boas decisões, aumenta. Em outras palavras, você sai do modo pânico e se aproxima do modo poder de escolha.
O problema da incerteza e da conversa interna
O cérebro não gosta de incerteza. Quando não sabe o que vai acontecer, ele tende a preencher as lacunas com o pior cenário possível: “vai dar tudo errado”, “vão me julgar”, “vou travar na frente de todo mundo”. É nesse momento que a conversa interna entra em cena, aquela voz que narra tudo o que está acontecendo, e principalmente o que pode acontecer. O psicólogo Ethan Kross, em seu livro Chatter (Conversa Interna), mostra que essa voz pode ser uma grande aliada ou uma forte sabotadora. A diferença está em como você fala consigo mesmo. A boa notícia é que você pode treinar essa conversa, usando a linguagem de forma mais intencional para ganhar perspectiva e reduzir o estresse.
Estresse e saúde: O que você precisa saber
Método em 3 passos: Nomeie, reformule, respire
Um jeito simples de fazer isso é usar um método em três passos: nomear, reformular e respirar. Primeiro, você nomeia a emoção. Em vez de pensar apenas “estou mal”, você diz claramente: “eu me sinto ansioso(a)”, “eu estou tenso(a)”, “eu estou animado(a)”, “eu estou inseguro(a)”. Pode ser em voz alta, por escrito ou mentalmente, mas quanto mais específico você for, melhor. Quando você nomeia a emoção, deixa de ser engolido por ela e passa a observá-la, o que acalma o sistema de alarme do cérebro e abre espaço para pensar melhor.
Em seguida, você reformula o significado do que está sentindo. Estar nervoso, por exemplo, pode ser visto como um sinal de que aquilo é importante para você. Sentir medo pode ser interpretado como um indicativo de que você está saindo da zona de conforto e crescendo. Sentir-se inseguro pode ser um lembrete natural de que você está aprendendo algo novo. Nesse processo, você não nega o que sente, mas muda a interpretação: a emoção deixa de ser um inimigo e passa a ser um sinal, um dado de realidade que você pode usar a seu favor. Assim, o medo deixa de ser apenas um freio e passa a funcionar como combustível para a ação.
Para completar, você traz o corpo para o jogo com a respiração. A respiração lenta e consciente é uma das maneiras mais rápidas de sinalizar ao sistema nervoso que o perigo passou. Algo simples, como inspirar pelo nariz contando até quatro, segurar o ar por dois segundos e soltar pela boca contando até seis, repetido algumas vezes, ajuda a desacelerar o corpo, diminuir a frequência cardíaca e trazer a mente de volta para o presente. Quando você combina nomear, reformular e respirar, cria um pequeno protocolo pessoal para acalmar a mente e responder melhor aos desafios.
Use o diálogo interno distanciado a seu favor
Outra ferramenta poderosa para lidar com a mente preocupada é o diálogo interno distanciado. Em vez de dizer “estou muito estressado(a)”, você passa a falar consigo mesmo na terceira pessoa, usando seu nome. Algo como: “[Seu nome], você já passou por coisas difíceis antes. Você dá conta”, ou “[Seu nome], respira. Vai passo a passo”. Quando você faz isso, cria uma distância psicológica entre você e a emoção. Estudos sobre nível de abstração mostram que, quanto mais distante algo parece no tempo, no espaço ou na relação pessoal, mais conseguimos pensar de forma ampla e racional, o que impacta diretamente nossas decisões, emoções e comportamentos. É como se você assumisse o papel de seu próprio treinador: menos drama, mais orientação e clareza.
Essas práticas funcionam porque diminuem a intensidade emocional, ajudam a regular as respostas ao estresse e aumentam a clareza e o foco. Ao ativar mais o córtex pré-frontal, fica mais fácil organizar pensamentos, analisar situações e tomar decisões com mais consciência. Além disso, a prática regular de nomear emoções, reformular pensamentos e usar o diálogo interno distanciado fortalece a resiliência emocional. Com o tempo, você desenvolve um vocabulário emocional mais rico e uma autoconsciência maior, o que permite sentir sem se afogar no que sente.

Antes do seu próximo grande momento, vale testar um pequeno roteiro: faça uma pausa de alguns segundos, dê nome às suas emoções, escreva ou sussurre o que está sentindo, reformule o significado do que sente, fale consigo mesmo na terceira pessoa oferecendo encorajamento e orientação, e finalize com alguns ciclos de respiração lenta. Só então, entre em ação – mesmo que ainda exista um pouco de medo. A ideia não é eliminar completamente a emoção, mas aprender a conviver com ela sem ser dominado por ela.
Lembre-se: emoções são mensageiras, não inimigas
No fim das contas, as emoções não são inimigas. Elas são mensageiras, sinais do que importa para você, do que está em risco, do que você valoriza. Quando você aprende a nomeá-las, reformular o que elas significam e usar o corpo e a linguagem a seu favor, deixa de ser refém do que sente e passa a liderar sua própria experiência interna. E, justamente naquela calmaria tensa antes da “tempestade”, essa prática simples pode fazer toda a diferença.
